Roadside Art......

This is one of my favorite farms that I drive by on the way into our new town. It's literally on the outskirts of town and today, when I drove by, it looked like a watercolor painting. The red, green, blue, and yellow hues caught my eye, along with the light and shadows. It all melded together to form a most picturesque scene.
I pulled off the road to pause for a moment and take it all in. Peace and serenity embodied in a landscape.....

Thank God I'm a Country Girl...........

Oh, I'll never get that song out of my head now! :)
I'm thankful you're a country girl, too, so we can partake in the beauty that surrounds *you*!

Beautiful picture! By the way, we miss you guys! Some time, we'll have to try to 'bump into' each other again! We're interested to know how everything is going for you guys. I guess we don't even really know where you're living now. Well, maybe one of these days...
In the mean time, I enjoy reading your posts and staying connected that way! Thank God for computers :)

It sure looks like a watercolor painting at its glorious best, blue. Lovely neck of woods...:)

And the little boy in the pic, Nathan managed to find a tiny sea-shell and was happy as a clam ;)

Much better than a velvet Elvis painting.

Beautiful picture. This has got to be one of the best farm shots I have seen, looks almost like a painting.

We are headed to both sides of Smokey Mountain National Park, NC and TN. We will also be in Ashville and Knoxville.

If I keep seeing pictures like this, I'll want to move to the country, too.

Now that I'm a virtual worker, that may yet happen. Any advice?

What a lovely picture - makes me want to take out my pencils and watercolors!

We had a quick visit through our beloved blue ridge a few weeks back - I must say, just seeing the mountains is always restorative for my soul

I love this pic reminds me if our farm, except its not a flat. I am going to post some pics of our old farm house and farm for you to enjoy. Not everybody sees the beauty in these things. Its nice to meet someone who does!

Gorgeous.

Lovely Wife and I will stop at the drop of a hat to take time to appreciate a beautiful scene. Always drove our daughters crazy, but hopefully they'll slow down enough to appreciate the beauty all around someday too.

jaime- i'll e-mail you soon with our new address so we can keep in touch.

carmi- hmm... advice for country living. i don't know much about the canadian countryside, but as for rural appalachia...if you don't mind the occasional pesky critters, spending more time having to maintain your property, and not having access to as many "modern" conveniences, the benefits of rural living majorly outweigh the inconveniences... in my estimation, anyway. rural living slows you down and helps you appreciate the connection to the land and to community that is sadly lacking for most people....

susan... glad you got a chance to breathe in the blue ridge, however brief.

zayannee- i'll be over soon to see your farm. i'm also glad to "meet" a fellow country girl! :)

anna- i loved talking to you, too. what a pleasant surprise! hopefully we can talk again soon....

jam- your girls will appreciate it. my parents did the same, which i lamented when i was young. but now i'm doing the exact same thing! :)

You take me back to my childhood days, of walking in fields and picking wild strawberries.
