Saturday night and the moon is out
I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout
Find a two-step Partner and a cajun beat
When it lifts me up, I'm gonna find my feet
Out in the middle of a big dance floor
When I hear that fiddle wanna beg for more..

Fiddlegirl asked me to help play for a square dance a couple of weeks ago at the local Senior Center. As there's not a whole lot going on most Saturdays and I enjoy playing (and dancing), I obliged her. I'm telling you, those retirees know how to have a good time.... they had more energy than me! When I would take a break from playing to dance, they wouldn't let me sit any dances out, even when I was exhausted. I'd get grabbed back up on the dance floor.
And since our hubbies wouldn't dance, Fiddlegirl and I waltzed together. I made her be the guy. :) It was a fun night.... a perfect remedy for winter blahs, which I think we all had.

That looks like so much fun. Many, many, many years ago hubby and I belonged to a sqare dance club. We had a great time. Then I got pregnant and was too sick to keep going around and around.
Did your son do some of the calling? Great shots that show pure joy.
sue- he thought he was calling. :)

Wow! This looks like LOTS of fun!
Open mic in the kitchen? This makes me very happy to read. Dancing is fun and good fun makes us better people.
Looks like a very fun evening. There's nothing like dancing to chase the blahs away!
Oh, how fun! My husbands band plays at the local VFW, and there are some older veterans who know how to dance the night away. I love it!
:)
Great photos and happy people...
You know, I really never did learn how to dance, but now that I am approaching my "senior citizenship", I suppose I should learn how.
Oh that's so much fun! I just brought home a square dance album for us for family dance nights. Good stuff. Shannon
