"In the bleak midwinter Frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron,Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow on snow.
In the bleak midwinter, Long, Long ago.... "

We had one snow during my stay in the Carolinas.....a beautiful one. There's something about a heavy snowfall that makes the world seem at peace......the heavy blanket silencing the chaos. These photos are of the same view that I posted a couple of days ago....

The deck was lonely that day....

I never fully knew that silence until I moved to town. It is beautiful how snow slows us down and keeps us quiet. Unless, of course, you are a 7 year old! Beautiful pictures, by the way. You really have a talent for this.

Beautiful post, amazing photos! Thanks for sharing this with me. 'In the Bleak Midwinter' is one of my favorite Christmas songs, too. Shawn Colvin does a nice version. I love the way you quoted the lyrics.
