Dream a little dream of me"- - - - Gus Kahn "Dream A Little Dream of Me"
"Was it a vision, or a waking dream? Fled is that music: - do I wake or sleep?"- - - - John Keats
" Dreams are ... illustrations from the book your soul is writing about you."- - - - Marsha Norman

I have been in a dreamy mood as of late...... maybe it is spring with all the new life and color. Or maybe it's the rain and fog we have been having. Or it could be that I have been staying up too late and tend to be in a haze during the days because of it. Whatever the reason may be, the beauty of the Appalachian mountains that surround me has not been escaping my senses....... it has all taken on a dreamlike quality and has been resonating within me.....
The photos are from various seasons here in the wildness, but all reflect how I am feeling. My friend Anna seems to be dreamy lately, too..... as reflected in THIS wonderfully romantic photo...
Wishing you all a wonderful, dreamy day!!!!
(sidenote: My sister, Motherskylark, has just put up a post after a long blogging hiatus. If you have a moment, stop by and welcome her back....her link is in my sidebar....)

:).......beautiful post...the pics and the words weaved such a beautiful magic..and i love ur new profile pic too........
May i share one of my fav.s too??? The lines are by Edgar allen poe:
"I have been happy, tho' in a dream.
I have been happy - and I love the theme:
Dreams! in their vivid coloring of life,
As in that fleeting, shadowy, misty strife
Of semblance with reality, which brings
To the delirious eye, more lovely things
Of Paradise and Love - and all our own!
Than young Hope in his sunniest hour hath known."
And regarding ur comments on my blog, yes I have lived in India...:)
ooohhh.... i like that one, too! thanks!
Now I'm feeling all daydreamy ...
I can see why the scenery around you invokes a daydreaming kind of state; your photos capture the mood beautifully. I feel the same way here sometimes with the natural beauty just outside my door.
Soon I'll be taking some time off & hopefully (!!) will be able to do a little more of that daydreaming ...
What pretty pictures!
Hey I love your new pic girl! :)
Thanks for the plug for my image in your beautiful post. These images daydreamy...I like the fourth one ALOT! :)
Take care!
The photos make me feel sooo dreamy. Our weather is really dreary right now so I'm been feeling blue. I'm ready for spring!
love the dulcimer picture - something I'd love to learn to play - and the hammar ducimer too.
the pictures are lovely - and rather than a dreamy state, the images of the blueridge in particular just resonate somewhere deep in my soul and remind me that God's in heaven and therefore all is well, irregardless of the appearance circumstances sometimes cause.
The red barn, nestled in the trees, with all that lovely spring green grass... ah, beautiful.
halfmom- i like your thoughts and feel the same....also, it speaks to me of the awe, wonder, and even mysticness of God.... it takes me to that place of childlike wander and magic of the world.....
Hi!
I enjoyed visiting your blog...the pictures are beautiful! It looks like home...I live a hop, skip and a jump from Appalachia!(London,Ky)
So I guess we are practically, almost, neighbors!;-)
Nice to meet you Bluemountainmama and I will be back to visit your blog! :-]]
tina- thanks for stopping by...i originally hail from KY, but the western part of the state, in the lake region......
Wonderful, beautiful photos. Love the song Beautiful Dreamer:-).
Have a great weekend!!
Hey there, thanks for stopping by my blog and viewing the dead mice....
That is a beautiful dulcimer, I have one that I bought in real bad shape hoping to fix it up, in my spare time of course.
I play lap steel and flat-top with a bluegrass group from Red Wing MN, so I really appreciate the Appalachian music and Old-timey.

You are indeed a beautiful dreamer bluemountainmama! I bet you'd enjoy "American Mountain People", a national geographic book i read once. It was the inspiration behind my old dream of escaping to Appalachia and becoming the apprentice of some old mountain mama... I'm married and joyfully living what God has for me here in the land of no mountains now, so that dream has faded to a distant thought that brings a smile to my face. I think it's neat that I get to glimpse a window to those mountains through you!
thanks, dani! glad to give you that glimpse....... :)
and twaits....very cool that you play bluegrass....you are quite the funny guy, just from what i gathered over at you blog!
Thanks for giving us permission to daydream. I think its a healthy mission to have now and then. I don't think we allow kids to do enough of it.
the quotes you posted are very nice - the first two pics are so crazy colorful, its really nice!
kala- for some reason, blogger is not letting me access your profile to get over to your site. if you see this comment, can you leave me you url?
Beautiful photos and such lovely snippets of verse. I especially like the Foster song. Thanks for sharing.
