Mountains and Rivers........
Even with a yucky headcold, I was able to enjoy the 70 degree weather as we picnicked at this park yesterday. It sits along the Potomac River and is near one of the offices where my husband works. We had spent the morning looking at real estate and this was a nice reprieve for Sir Laughsalot after riding around in the car all morning. Not a bad view, huh?

As I am feeling a little under the weather and don't really have much to post, I'll refer you to my friend Elise and THIS wonderful, moving post on some cherished time with her daughter. Enjoy!

A beautiful view! Sounds like a wonderful afternoon!
Sorry you're dealing with a yucky head cold. :( I hope you feel well again soon.
What a terrific view! So blessed to have that nearby!
Great view! :) Saw MotherSkylark tonight!
Love those mountains!! About 10 years ago, I saw the spring that births the Potomac. It is high up in Tucker County (or nearby, I can't remember). It is such a small spring, that I had a hard time believing that the mighty Potomac comes from that little pool of bubbling water!
Hope u feel better soon........and the place looks so beautiful....an idyllic place for vacations...envy u!!! :)
Get well soon....:)
The pictures are beautiful---although I'll be bluntly honest and admit that I don't appreciate the beauty of our area as much as you do---sometimes I find myself wishing for long, open high-ways where I can see where I'm going for miles ahead and don't feel all closed in by hills! You'd think I'd appreciate it more having lived here my whole life, wouldn't you? Oh well. The pictures are beautiful, regardless :) Oh, I also wanted to mention that I have really enjoyed several of your recent posts, I just haven't gotten around to commenting on them :)
kenju- i know where tucker county is...i'll have to find out where that spring is b/c i'd love to see it.
You have a great blog.
Your theory of buying local definitely make sense.
Get well soon :)
Hope you get to feeling better, but what better medicine than 70 degrees and an Appalachian Valley to enjoy it in!
Lovely images.
Hope you are feeling better.
Real estate? Are you moving again?
The pics are gorgeous and remind me of where I grew up.
How idyllic! You are so blessed.
I looked at your friend's blog- what a beautiful description of motherhood! She is gifted with words.
I hope you're feeling better!
The pictures are really lovely, and refreshing. The wind is blowing here, so hard that the sun disappears every other minute or so. These made me stop and take a breath! :)
l.l.- we've been renting ever since we moved to the area, so we are looking at houses to buy. my husband works throughout a 3 county area, so when we buy it will probably be further south, more central to where he works.
Blue, these are great pictures. I hope they lifted your spirits out of the fuzzy head cold clouds. And I hope you find a precious home for your family soon.
feel better soon - and as always, thanks for sharing the pictures of beloved hills
